Kimberly Breault Balanced Abode

Kimberly has a hunger for simplicity, she is a true minimalist at heart. Helping people find joy in their homes is a natural talent that she has been gifting for years.

Although she has loved the transformable effects of color and paint since the day she held a brush, her initial inspirations for design came from years of studying the art of feng shui. As a seeker she was hungry to understand why some spaces felt and looked more beautiful or more efficient. Whether it’s her Libra nature or just her love for harmony, Kimberly has a strong belief in finding and supporting balance.

Having lived on both the East and West Coast and working with families of many cultures and beliefs, she has a respect for all ways of living, and a deep appreciation for children. With a love for alternative educating and experiential learning, Kimberly finished her masters program in Montessori education in 1996. This training revived her gift and skills in “preparing” environments. After many years of working with children in different learning environments, Kimberly was routinely asked to support families in their homes. Parents naturally wanted to bring their child’s “classroom success” into their homes.

De-cluttering and inspiring parents to help in maintaining simple and efficient spaces was her primary focus. Having a degree in Marketing helped her create visual aides and present design ideas for home, educational and business situations. Creating spaces that inspired independence and cooperation was hugely rewarding for Kimberly.

In 2003, Kimberly was welcomed as a Designer at Home Depot. After a year of going into homes and businesses she was promoted to specialty/flooring manager, where she then worked for three additional years building a strong customer base and learning the ins and outs of home improvement.

Favorite Things: “Since childhood, I have always been inspired to transform spaces, I loved cleaning days, especially “spring cleaning”. Today I find great joy in expressing myself with art, interior design, and food. I enjoy helping others to have more joy and meaning in their lives, and yes, I still love to clean, Go MEILE!” (my vacuum) And, coming from a large family, and the mother of two, she has always appreciated a quality “pre-owned” anything! A huge advocate of recycling anything, including last night’s leftovers into a new and delicious meal.
